In 2001, when Joseph Wagner set out to craft a true, vineyard-designated Pinot Noir, he broke ground in California’s coastal regions, where cool temperatures create the long, steady growing season that’s well-suited for such an elegant grape. And when it came time to label the bottle, he chose the most elegant name he knew—Belle Glos. The name honors his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, co-founder of Caymus Vineyards and an inspirational figure in Joseph’s commitment to viticulture. And Belle Glos represents the culmination of a legacy of elegance with the 2020 Belle Glos Eulenloch, a single-vineyard classic California Pinot Noir from the celebrated Los Carneros nested appellation. It’s a vintage that enjoyed a near-perfect growing season in which ideal hang time allowed the grapes to achieve spectacular color and flavor. Its generous style will resonate with Pinot Noir fans who love complexity and richness. The darker fruits of blackberry, boysenberry and cherry combine like velvet, while hints of chocolate nibs and brown sugar leave a lush, elegant finish.
