Description
With a winemaking legacy of over 138 years, Beringer continues its classic heritage today with unrivaled wines that showcase Napa’s finest appellations. Each of Beringer’s exceptional vineyards has a distinctive soil and terrain, lending itself to a particular varietal, and this is perfectly reflected in the mountainous vineyards atop Howell Mountain. Bancroft Ranch Vineyard is directly influenced by the 1,800 feet elevation and its gritty white tuff soil of volcanic origin. The vines produce small, intensely flavored berries with powerful fruit flavors and thick skins that yield robust tannins. Bancroft’s forward fruit demonstrates the classic Cabernet flavor of ripe, sweet black currant. This exclusive small bottling is a blend of hand-selected lots that winemaker Laurie Hook felt were especially expressive, showcasing Bancroft Ranch’s signature complexity and concentration.

I have had a rather unique experience of working for Beringer for 28 years. This has given me the opportunity to work closely with great mentors, including Ed Sbragia and Myron Nightingale. I'm rewarded by the intersection of art and science that winemaking offers, and the constant evolution of our work—whether it's in the vineyards or the winery. I'm excited by how unique each Harvest is, and honored to have a hand in creating something that will be enjoyed for decades to come.
