Description

The founder of The Hess Collection, Donald Hess, was attracted to Mount Veeder’s high elevation and challenging mountain climate, believing this rugged land would produce great grapes, leading to even greater wines. Our Ridge 4 Cabernet Sauvignon represents the very best Cabernet Sauvignon from our Veeder Hills Vineyard. Here, the soils are thin, forcing the vines to struggle and produce smaller yields with intensely flavored berries. We also avoid planting in shaded areas to ensure the vines have the greatest possible exposure to sunlight during the day to achieve optimal ripeness. This wine presents a beautiful expression of our Mount Veeder fruit with an exceptional refinement in both flavor and texture.
