Jeff Kandarian

Winemaker, JaM Cellars

Winemaker, Jeff Kandarian

Jeff was born and raised in the agriculturally based San Joaquin Valley of California and knew early on that he wanted to make wine. At California State University of Fresno he studied Enology and Chemistry earning his Bachelor of Sciences degree.

Working at wineries large and small in the Paso Robles AVA, notably including Justin, Meridian, Eberle, and Shandon Valley Partners, Jeff honed his winemaking craft.

Eventually the northern, cool, coastal climate in Orgeon called to him where he landed as WineMaker with Del Rio Vineyards and Winery.

In the Summer of 2008 Jeff joined King Estates to lead their winemaking team, producing exquisite north Oregon Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. His energy and passion for winemaking translated to exceptional wines and a voice in the industry, speaking at wine industry symposia on the topic of "Producing Oregon Pinot Gris of Exceptional Quality Through Impeccable Winemaking Practices and Judicious Blending".

In 2014 Jeff connected with John Truchard, relocated to Napa and took over winemaking for the portfolio ranging from the signature, Estate wines of John Anthony Vineyards, the artisanal, hand-farmed FARM Napa Valley, and all-occasion wines JaM Cellars. For John Anthony Family of Wines and Jeff it's a perfect match of skills and well rounded talents across these diverse wines and winemaking techniques in which he is expert.
