Description
High in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley, historically known as the Vaca Mountains, lies Somerston. The "Celestial" block is a hillside vineyard that reaches 1,500 feet in elevation. The combination of the rocky soils, aspect, and high elevation microclimate, distinguish this block as one of our best vineyard sites. The Cabernet Sauvignon from this block is intensely concentrated, has great structure, yet possesses great balance. We typically blend it with one other block to make our Somerston Cabernet Sauvignon, but for Premiere Napa Valley, we chose to offering a bottling of this special block by itself.

Craig Becker is a seasoned winemaker and has worked with a wide range of varieties planted at some of California's top hillside vineyards.
Country born: United States
Education: Driven by his strong interest in plant and soil science Craig attended the University of California at Davis studying plant physiology, hydrologic science, enology, and viticulture.
Years in the wine industry: 15-20 years
Winemaking Philosophy:
It is Craig's artisan approach to winemaking and his extensive knowledge in viticulture that enables him to create superb wines from a wide range of varieties and sites.
