Description

Situated on the southeastern side of Calistoga, Canard Vineyards has been growing some of the finest small-berry Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the Napa Valley for decades. Grapes have been planted on the twenty-six acre property since the late 1800s. Dark wines with rich intensity are produced from these fruits as the micro-climate and soils here provide optimum growing conditions. For Premiere Napa Valley, we are offering a special blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon from our reserve block of Clone 7 with 4% Cabernet Franc. The nose shows rose petals, dark black fruits, smoked meats and sweet vanilla. The mouth feel is opulent and smooth, and has a generous amount of ripe blackberries, black currants, roasted coffee beans and chocolate dominating the mid-palate. The finish is long with a hint of toasted oak.
