Winemaking Philosophy:
Much has been said about "terroir" over the last two decades, but exactly how to capture the flavors of a specific vineyard often proves a tricky balance. Harvesting on that perfectly-sharpened knife-edge between underripe (firmer tannins, less aromatic intensity) and overripe (jammy, dark, sweet fruit, but not site-specific) requires not only tremendous patience, but also a level of attention in the vineyard as well as in the winery.
My philosophy of winemaking involves developing gorgeous, full, complex and elegant wines that speak of a certain corner of Napa Valley. They sit gracefully at your table and compliment your cooking. They recall memories of a season and share those with you. They enchant you.
