After 17 years of making exceptional wine at Whitehall Lane Winery, the Leonardini Family has at long last joined the Napa Valley Vintners. To make up for lost time, they put their best barrel forward in their first ever appearance at Premiere Napa Valley. Winemaker Dean Sylvester sampled every barrel lot of 2008 from the winery's six Napa Valley vineyards—more than 43 barrel lots of 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. And the winner is... One single-blended barrel of St. Helena and Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon from the winery's Leonardini Vineyard in St. Helena and its Millennium MM Vineyard in Rutherford. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is 65% St. Helena and 35% Rutherford. The wine will continue aging in a new French Marchive medium-toast oak barrel until December 2010.
