Winemaker, 001 Vintners
Graeme MacDonald is a fourth-generation wine-grower who stewards vines planted by his grandparents and great-grandparents within the famous To-Kalon Vineyard. For 50 years, his family supplied grapes to the Robert Mondavi Winery, based on a handshake with Robert “Bob” Mondavi, who referred to them as “the best grape-growers in the Napa Valley.” Bob encouraged Graeme to attend the University of California at Davis where he studied Viticulture and Enology prior to founding MACDONALD where he serves as winemaker and vineyard manager.
