Description
High-elevation mountain Chardonnay is a rarity in today’s Napa Valley.
Dry farming is also less common in high-elevation, rocky well-drained soils.
Fruit for this wine was sourced from a single high-elevation estate vineyard that has been dry farmed for more than 20 years.
The wine was also made in the “original” Napa Chardonnay style. When we began making Chardonnay in the 1970s, almost everybody made Chardonnay with no malolactic fermentation and barrel fermented in mostly “experienced” French oak. This wine has a liveliness still at this age that is impossible to miss.
