Description
Truchard Vineyards is proud to offer a Pinot Noir 38 years in the making as our Premiere Napa Valley offering. In 1974, cool and foggy weather – along with a few cows and sheep – dominated the southern part of Napa Valley, destined to become the Carneros AVA. Tony Truchard, and a few other pioneers, saw potential in this relatively undiscovered and unplanted area.
Today’s offering comes from our original block of Pinot Noir planted in 1974, our “Old Block.” It is consistently the best lot of Pinot Noir that we make, and this 2012 is a big, complex Pinot with aromas of blueberry and framboise, and jammy flavors of plum and cherry.

Winemaker, Truchard Vineyards
Sal was the enologist for Cuvaison Winery from 1995-1997, then worked as harvest winemaker in 1997 for Margaret River Vineyards in Australia. From 1998 onward, he has served as winemaker for Truchard Vineyards.
