Description
The 1999 vintage was exceptional! Tonnage was low and quality was extremely high, resulting in wines of great depth and complexity with the structure to age. This vintage yielded only 11 barrels of Cabernet Franc from the Spottswoode Estate Vineyard, of which we have set aside one for Premiere Napa Valley 2001 (the remainder is an integral part of our 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon blend). This wine is opulent and rich, displaying the classic characteristics of violets and ripe blueberries that we have come to expect from the special two-acre block of Cabernet Franc in our estate vineyard.
