Description
The 2002 vintage marks the debut of Long Vineyards' "Perini" block of Cabernet Sauvignon, our new one-acre estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill at 1000 feet elevation, in the eastern hills of Napa Valley. Planted in 1999, this hand-tended vineyard was designed to entice our daughter Elizabeth Perini into the wine business so we can retire! Aged in new Seguin Moreau and Taransaud oak for 18 months, the wine is characteristic of Pritchard Hill's distinctive and intense dark-berry fruit. At full maturity, less than 300 cases will be produced. Given the Pritchard Hill location and the winemaking abilities of the Long Vineyards team—Bob Long, Sandi Belcher, and Zelma Long—this Cabernet should become one of Napa Valley's "premiere" offerings.
