Description

Coquerel Family Wine Estates is located just beyond the town of Calistoga at the north end of the Napa Valley. The heart and soul of our winery is our estate “Walnut Wash” vineyard, a gorgeous, oak-studded property that sits in the afternoon shadows of the Mayacamas Mountains. The combination of warm temperatures and deep, clay soils makes this ideal terroir for Sauvignon Blanc, our flagship variety. Our 2014 Premiere Napa Valley bottling is a tête de cuvee Sauvignon Blanc from fruit grown at our estate vineyard. The wine is made in a Pessac-Léognan style, the region of Bordeaux where our winemaker, Christine Barbe, learned her craft. It is fermented with special yeast strains chosen for their ability to enhance flavors, texture and aromatics. It is aged sur lie for seven months with frequent stirring to increase body and mouthfeel. This powerful yet balanced wine offers a unique and delicious interpretation of Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
