- Argentum is the Latin word for silver, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the winery
- A Right Bank-inspired blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot
- From 28-year-old vines planted in the volcanic ash and sandy loam soils of northeastern Rutherford
- Aging for 22 months in two small French barrels, one new and one neutral, for a balanced oak profile
2018 marked our 25th anniversary. Blessed with excess Cabernet Franc and Merlot, we decided to celebrate the occasion with a limited release bottling, which carries the Latin name for silver.
Winemaker, William Harrison Vineyards & Winery
Inspired by his mother's work with Wente Vineyards in Livermore, Charles McKahn chose a career in wine at the tender age of fifteen. The industry's history, tradition and seasonal variety appealed to him as a unique way to make a living. While earning his Enology degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, he honed his craft in the cellars of Tolosa Winery and McManis Family Vineyards. After graduating in 2011, he moved to Napa Valley to work for our consulting winemaker, Phillip Titus, at Chappellet. Over just five harvests, Chuck moved from Cellar Intern to Enologist to Assistant Winemaker, and in January of 2016, he took the lead role here at William Harrison. In his "spare" time, he also makes the wine for McKahn Family Cellars, which he co-owns with his parents and wife, Brittany.
