Description
It has been said that the Rutherford nested appellation is the birthplace of some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley and we agree. The fruit is grown on our 10-acre estate vineyard, which has an extremely unique terroir. Our rocky soil and steep west/southwest facing slope offers a perfect environment to create Cabernet Sauvignon with an intensity and structure emblematic of the famous Rutherford nested appellation. This is a beautifully balanced Cabernet Sauvignon that reveals opulent fruit characters, supple tannins and an exquisite finish.

Growing up among the vineyards of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, I guess perhaps I was destined to find a career in winemaking. At a young age, I recall visits to the vineyards to watch my godfather, a vineyard manager, work with the vines. And like most people who grow up in wine country, wine was a typical fixture at my family's dinner table. I developed a deep appreciation for the process of taking the tender grapes from vine to the glass, generating the spark of what would become my professional calling

Education: Marisa graduated from the University of California, Davis, first with a B.S. in Chemistry and then an M.S. in Food Science-Enology.

Winemaking Philosophy:
What is in the glass should reflect what is in the vineyards. My desire is to to help the grapes express themselves in the best possible way.
