Winemaker, Swanson Vineyards
Robin came to Napa Valley in 2009, working with winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown of Outpost and Schrader Cellars. He joined Envy Cellars in Calistoga as winemaker where he has made the highly regarded Envy and Carter wines since 2010.
A native of Scotland, Robin brings vast international experience from the cellars of New Zealand, France and Australia. After graduating from the University of Edinburg, he received a graduate degree in viticulture and enology from Lincoln University in Christchurch, New Zealand. In addition to two harvests in New Zealand, Robin made wine and worked harvest in Languedoc-Roussillon, at Burgundy's famed Domaine Leflaive and in Australia's Barossa Valley with Two Hands Winery before moving to the Napa Valley to establish roots after eight consecutive harvests around the world in four years.
