Description
In 1967, inspired by the notion that Bacchus loves the hills, our family followed the advice of legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff and settled high atop Pritchard Hill, on the rocky eastern slopes of Napa Valley. In the years since, we have dedicated ourselves to crafting wines that showcase the power, grandeur and age-worthiness of great mountain-grown grapes. At the same time, Pritchard Hill has emerged as one of California’s most revered winegrowing sites, and a source for some of the world’s finest mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignons. Our Pritchard Hill estate vineyard is farmed as 34 distinctive blocks - including 26 different blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon. Made from our most profound and compelling blocks and barrels, this lot represents the pinnacle of our winegrowing program. The 2016 vintage was among the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in decades at our Pritchard Hill estate vineyard. Because of this, this lot focuses on the epic nature of the 2016 Cabernet, with its alluring red and black fruit, robust yet refined mountain tannins and sophisticated structure.
Phillip Corallo-Titus

As Chappellet's winemaker for more two decades, Phillip Corallo-Titus has guided the winery's storied winemaking program, building on Chappellet's legacy as one of California's preeminent producers of Cabernet Sauvignon. A gifted winemaker with a passion for experimentation, Phillip has embraced the diversity of Pritchard Hill to craft benchmark wines that authentically express the terroir-inspired complexity and character of their mountain origins.

Education: Phillip studied agronomy, viticulture and enology at the University of California, Davis. A dedicated student of wine, Phillip also traveled to France to learn about the great wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy.

Winemaking Philosophy:
Because I've worked with our vineyards for so long and know each block so intimately, I am able to focus on the individual characteristics of each vineyard lot. This diversity allows us to enjoy a great deal of freedom during the blending process, while also adding immense depth and complexity to our wines.
