Trevor  Durling

Winemaker, Hewitt Vineyard

Durling grew up in nearby Santa Rosa, one of the wine hubs of Sonoma County. Wine was a staple at his family dinner table, and he ended up majoring in Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis. After an internship at Sonoma-Cutrer and two consecutive harvest internships at Gloria Ferrer, Durling joined Moon Mountain Vineyard - a small, organic vineyard in Sonoma, where he spent four years. "Moon Mountain was a great place to start my career," he says. "I got to work on small-lot, luxury-class wines made from primarily Bordeaux-style grapes grown in mountain terroir."

Since joining the winemaking team at Hewitt Vineyard and Provenance Vineyards in March of 2010, Trevor Durling works hand-in-hand with senior winemaker Chris Cooney and has worked closely with founding winemaker Tom Rinaldi.

Durling also serves as winemaker for Uppercut Wines.

Winemaking Philosophy:
It's been a great honor to work with Chris Cooney, crafting such highly regarded wines. From a winemaking standpoint, we have access to some of the best fruit in Napa Valley, not just from our estate in Rutherford, but also from Carneros in the south all the way up to Calistoga in the north. Our job is to make sure that each wine is balanced, complex, exciting and representative of its terroir.
