Winemaker, Red Mare Wines
Growing up on a dairy farm in Washington State, Anne developed a deep appreciation for agriculture from her father, and inherited his love of wine. After graduating from UC Davis with a Bachelor's Degree in Enology and Viticulture, Anne worked for wineries in Washington, California and Chile before settling in the Napa Valley.
Anne worked for several well-regarded wineries in Oakville and Rutherford; Robert Mondavi, St. Supery and for the longest time, Paradigm Winery. It was at Paradigm where Anne developed her appreciation for the rich, complex and elegant style of wines she enjoys making and drinking.
Anne began her consulting career and also started her own brand, Red Mare Wines in 2007. Since then, Anne has consulted for numerous projects in Napa as well as Canada and grown in her love, appreciation and knowledge of wines.

The vineyard lays the foundation for a great wine. Site selection and vineyard development are the cornerstones. Thoughtful farming with an aim for vine balance, fruit quality as well as land stewardship are the structure. I'm fortunate to work with a small group of great farmers who strive to achieve top quality wines from diverse sites. My techniques in the winery may be seen as a little old fashioned to some. I strive for elegance during extraction and aging and use blending to find a wines complexity.
