Description

For Premiere Napa Valley, we chose to highlight one vineyard—our Ranch Vineyard—for a one-of-a-kind, terroir-driven offering. The 2011 harvest, our 40th harvest, may have been a challenge on the valley floor, but fruit from this mature hillside vineyard, hundreds of feet above that, was exceptional. This vineyard enjoys a southwest exposure that gives it lots of sun, and its location on the slopes of Howell Mountain opens it to breezes the valley floor doesn’t get on hot days. These 35-year-old vines produced smaller berries, packed with intense flavor, color and aroma. So for Premiere, we blended lots of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from this site for an exceptional wine filled with dense fruit flavors.

Aging Process

22 months in French Oak, 14 months in bottle. Release is 36 months from harvest.
