Description

The great Cabernets produced in Napa Valley in the ’70s—wines that demonstrated not only the fruit we have come to love here, but also a level of balance that is rarely achieved—were the inspiration for our inaugural Premiere offering. From our vintner’s reserve barrels—the best barrels from the best lots in a given year—we selected this barrel of Cabernet to feature at Premiere Napa Valley. The fruit came from the Rutherford Bench, and the wine demonstrates the mineral and earthy qualities that Rutherford Cabernet is known for, but also shines with great acidity and a tremendous combination of red and dark fruit flavors. While approachable now, it has the structure and components to age gracefully for years.

Aging Process

This wine will be aged for 30 months in French Oak barrels from the Nevers forest in Central France.
