Our Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from our vineyards on Atlas Peak. We harvest and ferment each ton of grapes separately, and each produces two barrels, which are aged for two years. We then select the best barrels to blend into our estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
This lot is a single barrel bottling. We have consistently found our best barrels come from Koko’s Block, named after our chocolate lab. Koko would follow me into the vineyard every morning, and after chasing a few quail or an occasional jack rabbit, would always rest in the same area of the vineyard. Koko is gone, but his memory lives on in this special bottling that is truly the best of our best.

My wife and I built VinRoc from scratch. We learned and studied as we were planning and developing the vineyard and later building our winery. We soon found that Atlas Peak doesn't fit the textbook examples. The rugged rocky hillside that is the site of our Cabernet Vineyard required a different approach than the valley floor. My goal in making VinRoc is to produce a wine that truly reflects the unique qualities of our vineyard.
