When we first planted Malbec eight years ago, we had no idea what this grape had in store for us. Wine that was supposed to be added to other blends instead demanded a blend of its own. Far from adding extra nuance to our other reds, Malbec has redefined what is possible in our estate vineyard. Named "Sacada" for the dramatic move in tango where a dancer moves into the space that his partner has just left, creating an impression of displacement, Trefethen's new Malbec-based blend dances with the best reds the world has to offer.
