Description

Throwing one's hat into a ring that already contains names like Niebaum, de Pins, Daniel and Tchelistcheff is humbling, to say the least. Even though we have had the good fortune to farm vineyards that are ideally pitched on the fabled Rutherford Bench, that fact alone is no guarantee of success. In addition, because we believe that the best wines in the world are always the purest expression of origin, our goal over the past ten years has been transparency in our winemaking, so that the balanced, elegant, noble and rare characteristics of Rutherford shine through. This 2007 single-barrel blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is the ultimate expression of our winemaking passion. Dry-farmed and organically grown, it inherently reveals classic flavors of the Rutherford Bench: black cherry, cassis, cocoa, tobacco and leather. This is a wine poised to take its place not only amongst our own vintages but indeed among the unique wines that have spoken for the Rutherford terroir for over 100 years.
