Description

Flying Horse Winery is owned by the Smeding family, a four-generation Napa Valley farming family. Hendrik runs the day-to-day winery business, Lettie is winemaker, Hendrik IV manages our vineyard when not attending viticulture and winemaking classes at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Bergen works on marketing and sales as he studies business at Pacific Union College. For this Premiere lot we picked the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes at a slightly lower brix than some winemakers prefer, as all other grape components were perfectly aligned. The grapes were outstanding: fully ripened with good color, and fruit forward with nice berry and cherry flavors. The result is an elegant wine that isn’t overbearing: it drinks well by itself and fits nicely with food.

Aging Process

Aged in New and used French oak.
