Cabernet Franc, in our humble opinion, is the shining star of Oakville Ranch Vineyards. There is something special that happens to it growing on our eastern hills. Perhaps it is the inversion layer combined with that amazing red soil and the intense exposure— but whatever it is, we love the results!
Every year, we produce a Cabernet Franc that we name after Bob Miner, our founder. Robert's Blend is usually about 80-95% Cabernet Franc with a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon blended in. For Premiere Napa Valley we have chosen to showcase this very special wine by giving you pure, 100% unadulterated, PURE Cabernet Franc from our Summitt block. Enjoy!

I graduated from UC Davis in 2002, worked for wineries from Washington State to Chile, then settled down at Paradigm Winery as Heidi Barrett???s assistant winemaker for four years. For the last three years I have been an independent winemaker for several small brands.
Personal: Married to Cameron Vawter, Director of Production at Dana Estates, with two little girls, two horses, one dog and 15 chickens.

Work with great fruit! Do as little as possible and as much as necessary. Help the wine to become the best incarnation of that varietal and site combination. Optimize fruit expression and lushness, while maintaining balance and especially acidity.
