Description

Elyse Winery, owned by Ray and Nancy Coursen, has been producing wine since 1987. This barrel of 2006 Elyse RC (Reserve Cask) Cabernet was specially blended for the Premier Napa Valley Auction and is a delicious Bordeaux style blend. It is comprised of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon from the highly regarded Morisoli and Tietjen vineyards both located on the Rutherford bench with its legendary volcanic soil, along with 13% Cabernet Franc from Abbey vineyard in St. Helena, 11% Merlot from Lynch Hillside vineyard also in St. Helena, and 1% Petite Verdot from Wood vineyard in Rutherford. The high quality of grapes from these vineyards has produced a wine that has powerfully intense fruit balanced by good acidity, firm tannins and a long lingering finish. We are so fond of this wine it is honestly hard to let it go!
