Description

This exceptional lot is mostly from the original vines planted in 1975 at the Backus Vineyard. The remaining part of this special lot is from small blocks above the original planting on a plateau overlooking the Napa Valley. The blend has a dash of both Malbec and Petit Verdot as well. Focused aromas of mineral notes, wet stone, freshly ground coffee, ripe blackberries and anise are followed by a balanced structure that yields length and refined tannin. The Backus Vineyard is located in the eastern hills of Oakville. We are proud to offer this lot, which is a perfect expression of Oakville’s terroir.
