Stagecoach Vineyard
2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley
Block G-1, vineyard land settled in the 1860’s, was selected by Tom for the Napa Valley auction barrel tasting. This mountain site, near Pritchard Hill and overlooking Oakville, was developed into vineyard more than ten years ago on red, well-drained volcanic soils, strewn with boulders and providing stellar growing conditions at an elevation of 1,500 feet. With full sun during the day and ideal exposures, the cold nights helped to develop more intense color and tannin. The primary flavor profile of the Stagecoach wine demonstrates solid blackberry, cassis, tar, licorice, green and black olive characteristics, with a nuance of French oak vanilla and cedar to complement the rich, round middle mouth. The finish of the wine is elegant and well balanced with integrated "polished" tannins. Enjoy this one-of-a-kind beauty!
