Description

The Bale Mill Vineyard block of Benessere is a revival of an historic part of the Napa Valley. Benessere is located in the northern part of St. Helena, near the Bale Grist Mill. This area is known as the "Bale Tract". We have chosen this name to designate our first Syrah for Premiere Napa Valley 2003. We planted the vineyard in 1996, with the idea of using the Syrah for blending or trade. The wine has turned out so good that we have decided to release a varietal Syrah. This wine represents the first "Bale Mill Vineyard" Syrah from Benessere. Our 2001 Syrah is a blockbuster of taste and color. It is deeply hued, opaque black and is redolent of blueberries and chocolate. It is full bodied, with the structure to last for years to come.
