Description
Sarah and I chose this lot as we feel it represents the best of what the newly appointed Oak Knoll District has to offer. Oak Knoll is second to Carneros as Napa Valley's coolest appellation. This fact combined with the clay, loamy soils creates ideal growing conditions for a beautiful Merlot similar to what you would find in Pomerol, on Bordeaux's right bank. With a nod to both the classics that have been produced for generations and the 'garagiste' wines that have risen to prominence in the last 20 years, we present our special blend for 2004. As a twist to our debut release in 2003 that received rave reviews, Sarah has decided to blend a bit of Cabernet to add some complexity. We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!
