DISTINCTION: AN ACCOMPLISHMENT THAT SETS ONE APART
Hartwell Estate Vineyards has been crafting limited production wines of true distinction for over twenty years by combining Old-World philosophies with modern technology and cutting edge techniques.
To create the best wine possible, Bob Hartwell has always maintained the importance of farming all of our own fruit at Hartwell Estate Vineyards. “Grow the best grapes, make the best wine” has been our winemaking philosophy from the start and neatly sums up the control that we have over all aspects of our wine production and viticulture.
For this very unique wine, Winemaker Benoit Touquette only uses fruit from vineyards at the top of Wappo Hill on our estate in the Stags Leap District. Planted in the late 1980s, this Bosche Clone Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard produces the best fruit on the property and we are proud to share it with you. A barrel select Cabernet Sauvignon, it is one-of-a-kind and is truly a wine with DISTINCTION...

Benoit Touquette
Winemaker, Hartwell Estate Vineyards
Benoit is a star on the rise in the wine world and is devoted to continuing the Hartwell tradition of producing wines of distinction and acclaim.
Country born: France
Education: Benoit brings his extensive Bordeaux experience, a Masters degree of Enology and Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux and stints at several Bordeaux wineries including Chateau La Louviere and Chateau Couhins-Lurton. Early in his career Benoit made wine with famed Consultant Michel Rolland, "The Flying Winemaker," in South Africa at Remhoogte Estate.
