Description
The fruit for this wine comes from northern blocks of the Deux Chevaux Vineyard we call Barry’s Sandbox. In 2002, vintner Barry Waitte planted multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot there for the purpose of creating small-lot blends. This is the third Sandbox Blend we have created exclusively for Premiere Napa Valley. DCV Sandbox Blend III is masterful wine that exhibits the unique traits of the Deux Chevaux Vineyard. The nose is complex, elegant and fragrant. Aromas of red and dark stone fruits evolve into a long finish with spice. This wine represents the first vintage made at the new Tamber Bey winery in Calistoga. Hand selected and blended by winemaker Frederic Delivert.

Winemaker, Tamber Bey Vineyards
Born and raised in France, his first experience with California wine industry happened in 1991, during an harvest internship while enrolled at the Ecole Superieure d'Agriculture de Purpan (in Toulouse) to get his Masters degree in agriculture. The experience abroad was so interesting that Frederic came back after graduating and started to compile a great experience in winemaking, with tenures at Newton, Far Niente, Duckhorn, Hafrner, Plumpjack and Cade, and most recently Martin Estate and Clark-Claudon. Frederic is convinced that winemaking starts in the vineyard. When grapes are brought to their best potential, then winemaking is just choosing the right path to express it.
