Description
Truly a unique wine, Thomas Rivers Brown's expression of classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc shows off mountain-fruit power with refined and supple tannins. From the exposed, rocky soils at the top of Hennessy Ridge meticulously farmed by a dedicated in-house crew, these grapes are a consistent benchmark in premium Napa Valley quality. Early in the vinification of harvest 2023 it was clear these wines would be special because of the concentration and innate balance. A legendary vintage from a distinctive winemaker at an exclusive site, this wine has it all. This wine was made once and will never be duplicated.

Winemaker, Caterwaul Wines
Thomas Rivers Brown, winemaker for some of Napa and Sonoma’s most iconic labels (Schrader Cellars, Outpost and his own Rivers-Marie, Aston Estate & Dorsey), has more than sixty 100-point wines to his resume. He was named 2010’s Winemaker of the Year by Food & Wine magazine.
He has been in Napa since 1997, where he began his career at Turley Cellars and now makes wines for select premium labels. Over the last decade, Thomas has received more 100-point scores than any other Napa Valley winemaker. He was awarded two 100-point scores from Wine Spectator, the first American winemaker to receive a perfect score. Beyond generosity and roundness in tannins, his wines have few common traits and are very individual, reflecting each vineyard’s unique terroir.
