Description
The 2009 vintage is one of depth and power. A dry season with cool nights and glorious summer days produced a wine with significant concentration and grip. Small berry size resulted in intense color and layers of enticing flavor signaling a vintage worthy of aging.
Lavender, balsamic, dried cranberries, rose petal and black tea jump out of the glass.
In January 2022, the Gallica team had a chance to revisit this vintage at our blind retrospective tasting. Forward and inviting. Still quite muscular with suggestions of Asian spice and white soy. Body and textured with layers of cardamom and dried pine needle. Rich and inviting now with years of enjoyment ahead. This wine has earned California Certified Organic Farming designation.
