Description
When you have great soil, an exceptional west-facing vineyard, and more sunshine than just about any other vineyard in the Valley, it is possible to grow exceptional Cabernet Franc that is one of the great examples of what this ancient variety produces. "Majek" grapes were first planted in 1991, and the resultant wine is big, bold and intense. Year after year brings great depth with a soft, velvety tannin structure backed up by bright, crisp acidity. When asked how long "Majek" would last, I replied, "longer than the cork." Great wine for an even better cause.

Marie-Laure Ammons
Winemaker, Oakville East Exposure
French native Marie-Laure, grew up in the rural Limousin region. With winemaking diplomas from both Burgundy and Bordeaux, Marie-Laure began her career in France at Domaine Lejeune in Pommard, Chateau de Pressace Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, and Dulong Negoiciants in Bordeaux. Fascinated by the energy and potential fro great wine in California, she moved here and began woring with Philippe Melka in 2003. With our 2010 vintage at Oakville East, Marie-Laure became our Head Winemaker. Sarah Gott our previous Winemaker has taken the new position of Consulting Winemaker for OE wines.

To bring grapes to bottle with minimal intervention while making sure that the finished wine brings its place and elegance to each taste.
