Description
Petit Verdot, as it grows on the steep hillsides of Spring Mountain Vineyard, is a unique expression of the variety for several reasons: ‘little green' comes to full ripeness at its 1,550-foot elevation above the Valley floor and expresses the powerful concentration of Spring Mountain terroir.
Its pungent, fruit-forward aromas with uncommon notes of clementine, plum and cherry, and its deep color and concentration are just two reasons why Block 88 is consistently part of the Elivette blend. On the palate, the wine is round and full-bodied, and interlaced with flavors of cocoa, cherry and red apple. Block 88 yields only two tons per acre.
