Description
The Force & Grace 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is the purest definition of a sense of place - showcasing the best blocks, the best lots and the best barrels to create the truest expression of Napa Valley. Winemaker Jean Hoefliger crafted this Cabernet Sauvignon to celebrate what nature gives us, such as the varying climate and geography from which our fruit grows within. Our vineyards are situated in the treasured nested appellations of Rutherford and Oakville, which are largely responsible for Napa Valley's reputation as a premier growing region for this varietal. Our artistic blending of small lots of fruit from these incredibly diverse sites produces a final wine – complex, concentrated, polished, age-worthy – that represents the very best of the 2022 vintage.
Jean Hoefliger
Winemaker, Force & Grace
Swiss-born Jean Hoefliger is an artisan, a scientist and a seeker of knowledge who has pursued a lifelong passion for fine wine on a global scale.
Jean strives for creative perfection – even though he is the first to admit it is unattainable – and has always been motivated to reach for the stars. An unbound spirit, Jean’s ability to transform the best grapes into the best bottles is legendary and inspires his artful approach as the head winemaker at Force & Grace.
A believer in hands-on learning and collaborative thinking, Jean holds a degree in enology from the Changins wine school in Switzerland and honed his skills at Michel Schlumberger and Hartford Family in Sonoma; Château Carbonnieux and Château Lynch-Bages in Bordeaux; and Meerlust in South Africa.
From 2001 to 2005, Jean served as the winemaker for Newton Vineyard in Napa Valley, building an impeccable reputation. With an insatiable appetite for art, philosophy, and a good discussion, Jean thrives when his creativity and talents are left unbound by conventional thinking.
In 2006, Jean joined the founding team at Alpha Omega Winery in Napa Valley as Winemaker and General Manager, merging his skill for business and production. Over 15 years of successful vintages at Alpha Omega, Jean also launched a global wine consultancy, building a
distinguished portfolio of far-reaching wine clients from Napa Valley to Monteverro in Tuscany, Pact(e) in Burgundy, Perinet in Priorat, and MR Michel Rolland.
Led by founder Joseph Carr’s vision, Jean has meticulously crafted the Force & Grace portfolio to reveal the natural artistry, grace and power at the heart of California’s best appellations.
