Red Table Wine
Oakville

10 cases produced

Highlights

  • Selected from our finest lots of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from the red, rocky hills of eastern Oakville
  • Organically farmed, hand-harvested, thoughtfully fermented and macerated, pressed straight to barrel
  • Aging for 20 months in 100% new French oak, bottled without fining or filtration
  • An intensely flavorful and complex expression of this variety that thrives in Oakville

Description

Working with these ancient, vermilion soils for well over a decade, we are able to parse out the ideal corners of this vineyard, delicately perched high above the valley floor, to see our most-treasured varietal Cabernet Franc flourish in a way nothing short of sublime. Elegant and truly unique, it is with great pleasure that we share this wine with our oenological community.

Andy Erickson and Jessica Tarpy Shaheen

Winemaker, Favia

Winemaker, Andy Erickson and Jessica Tarpy Shaheen

In the spirit of mentorship, this lot celebrates the collaboration between Favia winemaker Jessica Tarpy Shaheen and proprietor Andy Erickson. This duo has been making wine together, along with viticulturist Annie Favia, since 2008.

Jessica moved to Napa Valley that year and became “Employee Number One” at Favia, until then a true “mom-and-pop” operation. She holds degrees from UCLA and Fresno State, but really it’s her Louisiana spirit that shines through in everything she does. Andy Erickson is a graduate of Tufts University with a Master’s Degree from UC Davis, and he likes to remind people of his blue ribbon in the Science Fair at Mary Feeser Elementary School in Elkhart, Indiana in 1977. Together these two (actually three) have put their passion into their craft for a decade and a half.
