Description

Founded by legendary vintners Donn and Molly Chappellet in 1967, Chappellet’s mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignons have been coveted by connoisseurs and collectors for more than half a century. Recognized for their extraordinary power and complexity, and for their incomparable ageworthiness, Chappellet’s Cabernet Sauvignons are Napa Valley benchmarks, and have established Pritchard Hill as one of the most prestigious addresses in the world of fine wine. Chappellet’s organic-certified estate vineyard reaches soaring heights of 1,800 feet and features 38 unique blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon. The Upper Terraces lot shines a spotlight on the grace and grandeur that define the greatest mountain wines. This epic wine was crafted as a block-and-barrel selection of the finest lots of estate Cabernet Sauvignon from the exceptional 2021 vintage, featuring prized Upper Terraces behind the Chappellet family home. A terroir-driven study in power, purity and elegance, this rare, one-of-a-kind wine from one of Napa Valley’s most revered multigenerational family-run wineries, and the original pioneers of mountain wine, will be treasured for decades to come.

Winemaking Philosophy:
Because I've worked with our vineyards for so long and know each block so intimately, I am able to focus on the individual characteristics of each vineyard lot. This diversity allows us to enjoy a great deal of freedom during the blending process, while also adding immense depth and complexity to our wines.
