Description

The 2005 Inglenook Rubicon is a remarkable wine from a generous vintage. Early budbreak and cool weather gave us perfect conditions for a very long, cool ripening. Petit Verdot (1.5% of the final blend) was co-fermented with Cabernet Sauvignon (98.5%) in oak tanks, prior to aging for 22 months in new French oak. The wine is impressive today, having retained both its deep black cherry fruit, and its ripe, fleshy tannins that provide a seamless, velvety texture. The depth of youthful exuberance of this wine at the 16-year mark will ensure its continued enjoyability over the next decade.
