Named in honor of Silver Oak co-founder Ray Duncan’s lucky number, Silver Oak Six is a one-of-a-kind wine blended only in years when Mother Nature and luck align. Every year there are wine lots that stand out above the rest, but in some years—like the 2012 vintage— they deserve a wine of their own. Crafted in the classic character and style of Silver Oak’s Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, this Cabernet-driven blend hails from the winery’s finest estate vineyards, spanning the gentle sloping benchlands of Napa Valley’s southeastern corner in the heart of the St. Helena nested appellation. Deliciously rich Cabernet Sauvignon seamlessly integrates with the silky mid-palate of Merlot and the spice and earthiness of Cabernet Franc in this balanced and complex proprietary red blend. The first vintage of Silver Oak Six from Napa Valley is a beautiful display of exceptional vineyard selections with an edgy composure. It has a slightly opaque garnet color and a nose of spearmint, cream soda, vanilla, molasses and black currant. The attack is seamless and round with flavors of fresh plum, chocolate and cocoa. Velvety tannins lead to a long finish with bright acidity. With proper cellaring, this unique bottling will provide drinking pleasure through 2039. Your wine was aged for 24 months in 100% new American oak and is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, checking in at 14.5% alcohol by volume. Your lot includes six standard bottles of 2012 Silver Oak Six as well as a 1.5-liter magnum of 2012 Silver Oak Six Cabernet Sauvignon.
