Description
Saintsbury founders David Graves and Richard Ward, both UC Davis graduate students at the time, met in a brewing class. In addition to sharing a love for the homebrew, they also had a similar taste in wine and founded Saintsbury in 1981. Now you can share in the joy of this partnership. This formidable lot contains a unique, one-time collection of 27 single vineyard Los Carneros Pinot Noir magnums from three iconic Saintsbury vineyards: Brown Ranch, Lee Vineyard and Stanly Ranch. Spanning the 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages, this curated assortment paints a detailed picture of the Los Carneros appellation and Saintsbury's lasting legacy in it. You will also receive a private, guided virtual preview tasting with winemaker Tim Colla to explore the history behind these storied sites and Saintsbury’s intimate relationship with them.

Winemaker, Saintsbury
Tim Colla discovered his passion for winemaking while traveling through Argentina during a post-high school gap year. After completing his studies in Fine Art and Chemistry at Columbia University, he returned to Argentina to start his career in wine with a harvest in Mendoza. This was quickly followed by a move to Napa Valley where he worked back-to-back harvests at Chappellet and Seavey Vineyards before landing in 2010 at Saintsbury.
Working as the Enologist at Saintsbury was Tim's first experience with Pinot Noir and he immediately fell for this enigmatic, and sometimes ornery, grape variety. In 2013 he was promoted to Associate Winemaker and in 2015 became the lead Winemaker at Saintsbury.
