Description
The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards, is proud to present this 12-magnum library selection, including six vintages of their tête de cuvée sparkling wine, J. Schram, and a vertical of six vintages of their J. Davies Estate Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Representing only 3% of the winery’s annual production, the Chardonnay-focused J. Schram blend is crafted from the very best base wine lots of the approximately 300 lots produced each year. Magnums from six memorable vintages were selected for your lot, each aged for seven to 17 years en tirage in the winery’s historic caves. The J. Davies Estate is home to the first hillside vineyards in Napa Valley, originally planted in 1862 by Jacob Schram. The wine is named in honor of patriarch Jack L. Davies, who along with his wife, Jamie, revived the Schramsberg property and established the preeminent American sparkling wine house 55 years ago. The vineyards were replanted to classic red varieties beginning in 1994, and the J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was first produced in 2001. Your lot contains one magnum from each of the exciting first six vintages.
