Description

A truly rare collection of six vintages of Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon in two formats, this vertical includes a magnum and a 750ml bottle of each vintage from 2010 through 2015, along with an exquisite six-bottle alder wooden box. Highlighting the Spottswoode philosophy of honoring vintage and our unique site, each wine tells its story with the purity and elegance for which our estate is known. The 750s offer you the opportunity to enjoy now, while the magnums will cellar for many years to come. 2010: Stepping into the grace of adulthood, the 2010 remains both dynamic and captivating. Sagebrush, thyme and briar complement hints of dark cherries and ancho chili. A wine that continues to exude greatness. 2011: Few vintages in recent memory evoke the classic, claret-like character of Cabernet Sauvignon more than the 2011. Red fruits, savory herbs, fraises des bois, conifer and wet earth only scratch the surface of this beautiful wine. 2012: Expressing immense freshness and energy, the 2012 melds blackberry fruit and vibrance with more mature characters of damp earth, dried sage and cigar box. Drinking beautifully now with much more to come. 2013: Tightly knit and destined for a long and distinguished life, you will find an explosion of deep red raspberries, marionberry, fresh herbs and roses. Unwaveringly precise, structural and tense—a lengthy decant is recommended! 2014: Characterized by silken, velvety tannins along with bramble, blueberry and black cherry. Damp clay and cocoa powder, violets and fresh herbs add intrigue. Textural, rich and poised, this wine will continue to age gracefully for years to come. 2015: A stunning wine to end this collection, the 2015 exudes raw energy and brightness. Mouthwatering red fruits are accompanied by graphite, red roses, marjoram and cedar. A palate loaded with depth, a tight core and robust acidity, it radiates power and spirited intensity.
