Description
Merryvale’s Profile Estate Vineyard lies on an eastern ridge overlooking the Napa Valley at almost 1,000 feet of elevation. Planted in 1997, this vineyard consistently delivers grapes that stand out for their plush fruit character, complexity and silky tannins. In addition to providing the fruit for the winery’s flagship red wine, Profile, the vineyard is also the source for its Saint Helena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, which is available only at the winery and through its wine club. The Saint Helena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon displays an intense, dark character with well-proportioned and refined tannins. It is a stunning example of hillside Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. This is your opportunity to collect six magnums from each of the 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages. The wine was made using traditional Bordeaux methods. Hand-harvested, sorted in the vineyard and at the winery, the fruit was cold soaked with each lot fermented separately in small Rieger tanks using native yeasts. After a long and gentle extraction, the wine was put into primarily new French oak barrels for 22 months, and then bottled without fining or filtration.
