Oakville Station
2018 Cabernet Franc
Oakville
Spoto Family Wines uses Cabernet Franc in all of our classic red style blends and Cabernet Sauvignons. However, every five to 10 years, a vintage comes along that stands out and we produce and bottle a Cabernet Franc. Our last vintage was 2006! The 2018 vintage was epic, so we made one barrel of Cabernet Franc and couldn’t pass up the chance to use it for Premiere Napa Valley. This wine has a splash of Merlot and Cabernet for balance and is barrel aged for 30 to 36 months in 100 percent new French oak.
Winemaker, Spoto Family Wines
Stuart Spoto learned the art of winemaking from his father Henry Spoto Jr. and together they have been making family wines for over 30 years. This family collaboration has greatly influenced Stuart to create his ultra-boutique winery (producing less than 500 cases per year) and perfect his Oakville Cabernet and Bordeaux blends.
