Description

The grapes used for this one-of-a-kind wine were sourced exclusively from the Meteor Vineyard, situated on gentle rolling hills within the Coombsville nested appellation in Napa Valley and planted in 1999 to three distinct Cabernet Sauvignon clones. The vines are strongly influenced by the cooling effects of the nearby San Pablo Bay, as well as the stony, rich volcanic ash soil, along with the elevation diversity provided by the Vaca Mountains. Meteor Vineyard is carefully looked after by owner Barry Schuler and vineyard manager Mike Wolf, which allows the vineyard to proudly be home to some of Napa Valley’s most distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. We've chosen to highlight Clone 4 in this never before, never again offering.

Winemaker Jon Priest embodies Etude's founding philosophy. This has allowed for the continual cultivation of the highest quality wines, reflective of the profound influences of the soil and the season, as well as the hand of its steward.

A California native, Jon established an early reputation for his estate red wines while working at Wild Horse Winery and Adelaida Cellars for more than a dozen years, and earned further critical acclaim as the Winemaker for TAZ Vineyards in the Central Coast. In spring 2005, Jon Priest moved north to the Napa Valley to join Etude as winemaker and to continue the tradition of crafting world-class wines.
