Description

For more than a decade, we’ve been crafting small batches of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from two of Napa Valley’s most iconic growing areas: the Howell Mountain appellation, sitting 1,400’ above the valley floor, and the iconic benchlands, which is nestled at the base of the Mayacama Mountain Range on the western edge of the Napa Valley and straddles both Oakville and Rutherford appellations. For this rare, five-case lot, we have broken from tradition and blended grapes grown from two of our best vineyards both sites to create an exceptionally complex wine that is truly greater than the sum of its parts. The vines from our Dancing Bear Ranch vineyard on Howell Mountain struggle in rocky soils on steep hillsides, resulting in small, intensely-flavored berries that produce muscular, complex wines. Our Hill Ranch vineyard on the western edge of the Napa Valley is planted to vines facing an ideal southern exposure in the alluvial, well-drained soils. The unique terroir here tends to produce fruit with phenomenal finesse and elegance. The resulting wine showcases beautiful, vibrant aromas and rich, concentrated fruit flavors. Refined yet powerful tannins lead to a long, elegant finish.
